Constructive characterizations of 3-connected matroids of path width three
A matroid M is sequential or has path width 3 if M is 3-connected and its ground set has a sequential ordering, that is, an ordering (e1, e2, . . . , en) such that ({e1, e2, . . . , ek}, {ek+1, ek+2, . . . , en}) is a 3-separation for all k in {3, 4, . . . , n − 3}. This paper proves that every sequential matroid is easily constructible from a uniform matroid of rank or corank two by a sequence...
متن کاملConstructive characterizations for packing and covering with trees
We give a constructive characterization of undirected graphs which contain k spanning trees after adding any new edge. This is a generalization of a theorem of Henneberg and Laman who gave the characterization for k = 2. We also give a constructive characterization of graphs which have k edgedisjoint spanning trees after deleting any edge of them.
متن کاملA note on Bar Induction in Constructive Set Theory
Bar Induction occupies a central place in Brouwerian mathematics. This note is concerned with the strength of Bar Induction on the basis of Constructive ZermeloFraenkel Set Theory, CZF. It is shown that CZF augmented by decidable Bar Induction proves the 1-consistency of CZF. This answers a question of P. Aczel who used Bar Induction to give a proof of the Lusin Separation Theorem in the constr...
متن کاملCharacterizations of amenable hypergroups
Let $K$ be a locally compact hypergroup with left Haar measure and let $L^1(K)$ be the complex Lebesgue space associated with it. Let $L^infty(K)$ be the dual of $L^1(K)$. The purpose of this paper is to present some necessary and sufficient conditions for $L^infty(K)^*$ to have a topologically left invariant mean. Some characterizations of amenable hypergroups are given.
متن کاملA Constructive Approach to Managing Fuzzy Subsets of Type 2 in Decision Making
The aim of this paper is to present a constructive methodology and algorithms for operations with fuzzy sets of type 2. The need to elaborate this methodology came from practical problems of Decision Making. To realize the methodology, some simplifications of the problem have been introduced. Particularly, only the trapezium form of membership functions was used. To highlight the difference bet...
